Hazardous waste management also has a place in the world of urban art. This past weekend, we have actively collaborated with the Gargar Festival de Murals i d’Art Rural, in Penelles (Lleida), providing our technical expertise in the collection and treatment of special/hazardous waste such as aerosols and contaminated packaging generated during the event.
Art and sustainability, a perfect tandem
Each edition of the Gargar Festival transforms Penelles into a large open-air museum, where dozens of artists create spectacular murals using materials such as sprays (containers with pressurized gases or aerosols), paints and solvents. However, many of these products leave residues that, due to their chemical nature, require specific and safe management.
In this context, Sircat guarantees the traceability of the waste, from the origin to the final recycling, ensuring an efficient and environmentally friendly process while guaranteeing regulatory compliance and traceability of the process.
Circular economy applied to culture
Sircat’s intervention in the Gargar Festival 2025 is a clear example of how environmental management can and should be integrated into all types of activities, including cultural and artistic ones. Thanks to the correct management of hazardous waste such as aerosols and contaminated packaging, we not only avoid their negative impact on the environment, but also actively contribute to the protection of the environment and the promotion of a model based on the circular economy.
This type of collaboration highlights the importance of having authorized operators with technical expertise and a firm commitment to sustainability. At Sircat, we continue to work so that waste management is not only a legal obligation, but also an opportunity to transform events and daily activities into responsible, coherent and respectful actions with our environment. Contact us if you need to manage the waste from your event or company.
